Last night's game is the kind that makes you feel like the Orioles will end up regretting it by year's end. You can't waste pitching like that! But they did. Now, in response to that offensive failure - or actually probably just because it's a Sunday day game - the lineup includes David Lough, the backup middle infielder, and Ryan Lavarnway. Because this takes place in a NL stadium, it also means Miguel Gonzalez will be batting.
Of course, last night the only Orioles hit with RISP was delivered by their pitcher, so maybe Gonzalez can follow in Mike Wright's footsteps, only this time without the Windmill, a slow outfielder, or Buck Showalter curiously deciding not to use a replay on a close play.
Anyway, as not fun as yesterday's game was, all that the Orioles have to do is win today and they win the series. If they find a way to do that while getting some Marlins player ejected, that would be all the more satisfying.
