Norfolk 6 Scranton/Wilkes Barre (Yankees) 1
With the recent dfa-ing of Alejandro de Aza it seems Chris Parmalee and Nolan Reimold are dueling it out to see who can make the best case for a call-up. Parmalee hit his 4th dinger and scored twice, while Nolan went 3 for 3 and is a mere 16 for his last 31 over the previous 10 games. O's offense could certainly use that type of production at the moment.
T.J. McFarland went 5 IP, allowing just 1 ER on 5 hits. The game was called after 6 due to rain.
Harrisburg (Nats) 2 Bowie 3
Parker Bridwell put together another statistically solid start, lasing 6 IP while allowing just 4 hits and 2 ER. He did walk 3, but that's part of the Bridwell Experience at this point. Mychal Givens tossed a perfect inning and a third for his 10th Save.
All of the Baysock offense came in the 6th as Mike Yastrzemski drove in 2 with a double and Matt Wieters followed with an RBI Sac Fly. Wiet would finish 0-2 with a walk and that SF; there were no SB attempts against him.
Lynchburg (Cleveland) 12 Frederick 8
Allowing two 6 run innings are a sub-optimal strategy for a pitching staff. But that seemed to be Luis Gonzalez's plan as he spotted the Hillcats 6 in the first and another 4 in the 3rd before being lifted.
The Keys offense had a go of getting back into the game. They answered with 2 runs in the 1st and a 5 spot in the 5th. Josh Hart ended up 0-4, but he walked twice and reached twice via error. He would eventually score after each error. Trey Mancini finished 1 for 4 with a double and a walk.
West Virginia (Pirates) 9 Delmarva 4
Old friend Stephen Tarpley (traded away in the Travis Snider deal) K'd 6 and allowed 2 runs (0 earned) over 5 IP against his former organizational teammates. Meanwhile, Shorebird starter Matthew Grimes allowed 5 ER over his 5 IP. sigh...Conor Bierfeldt and Logan Uxa each had 3 for 5 nights. Jomar Reyes went 1 for 4 with a walk and 2 RBI.
