Lehigh Valley (Phillies) 4 Norfolk 5 (10 innings)
Zach Davies gave up 4 ER over 5.2 IP but the 'pen came on to keep the IronPigs at bay; giving the offense a chance to win it late. Davies K'd 6 and gave up 8 H, 1 BB, and 1 HR.
Dariel Alvarez doubled to lead of the 10th, and was promptly driven in by a Henry Urrutia single to walk it off. Alvarez has be smoking hot of late, hitting .350 over his last 10 games. He went 2 for 5 with a double and a run scored in this tilt. Chris Parmalee smacked his 6th dinger of the season in the 7th to tie the game up. 3 Tides (Parmalee, Michael Almanzar, and Derrik Gibson) drew 2 walks each.
Portland (Red Sox) 4 Bowie 3 (11 innings)
Usually reliable Mychal Givens got touched up for 2 runs in the 8th and 1 run in the 9th to blow his 2nd Save of the season. They can't all be zingers. Starter Joe Gunkel has yet to allow a run over his 2 starts with Bowie. He went 7 scoreless in this one. He K'd 4, walked 1 and allowed 5 hits.
Ozzie Martinez and Trey Mancini each went 3 for 5. Glynn Davis went 1 for 6 with 4 Ks, but he threw a runner out at Home, so that'll make for an alright day regardless.
Frederick 9 Potomac (Nats) 3
Suck it, Gnats. The Keys dropped some 5-spot flava in they ear in the 7th to blow this one open. Every member of the lineup save for 9th hitter Gregory Lorenzo hit safely. Org. soldier Tucker Nathens smacked is 6th dinger of the season in the 5th and drew 2 walks. Chance Sisco went 1 for 3 and drew 2 walks. What's up with all these O's players drawing walks? I don't understand...
Kannapolis (White Sox) 8 Delmarva 2
Josh Walker got touched up for 6 runs (4 earned) over just 3.2 IP. 7 hits allowed, 2 walks issued, and an error committed for him. ouch. T.J. Olesczuk hit 2 doubles and threw a runner out at Home. Conor Bierfeldt hit a double and drew a walk. Otherwise a rather blah effort for the offense.
