Orioles minor league rundown, 6/18/2015

Norfolk Tides 4, Toledo Mud Hens 5

The Tides jumped ahead early, but the bullpen was unable to hold things together (Wesley Wright's performance was...not encouraging). Zach Davies struck out seven and allowed two earned runs, but reached 99 pitches in the sixth inning. Five walks didn't help matters. Dariel Alvarez continued to hit everything as he hit his fourth homer of the month (.651 SLG since 6/1). Henry Urrutia also homered and Steve Clevenger doubled.

Bowie Baysox 0, New Britain Rock Cats 2

The Baysox offense picked a lousy night to go cold. An eight inning five strikeout (no walks) performance from Parker Bridwell went to waste as Baysox hitters were held to two hits.

Frederick Keys 0, Wilmington Blue Rocks 2

Much like their big brothers in Bowie, the Keys offense was unable to perform this evening. Journeyman Mikey O'Brien allowed two runs in five innings. Jon Keller pitched three shutout innings and struck out four, Chance Sisco doubled and Anthony Caronia stole two bases.

Delmarva Shorebirds 6, Lakewood Blue Claws 1

T.J. Olesczuk (double, single) and Jay Gonzalez (triple, walk) continue to produce at the top of the Shorebirds lineup. 2014 draft pick Riley Palmer doubled twice. His colleague Josh Walker tossed five shutout innings and struck out six in the process.

New York Penn League action opens this evening.
