It is, unfortunately, not a whole lot of fun to be an Orioles fan at this moment in time. We might have thought that we were done with the whole Steve Pearce playing second base thing, but it turns out we're not, because J.J. Hardy probably has an oblique issue and so you shouldn't be shocked if he's on the disabled list within the next couple of days.
For tonight at least, we're spared having to see the present least popular infielder on the Orioles roster (among fans, anyway), with Ryan Flaherty serving as the substitute shortstop instead. Whether that proves to be a good thing as Mike Wright takes the mound in Houston, well, I guess we will find out.
Some members of the Orioles paid a visit to NASA today and got to talk to astronaut Terry Virts, the Orioles fan who is presently orbiting Earth on the space station. If any O's hitters want to follow up on that adventure by hitting some home runs into outer space tonight, that would be ideal for all involved parties.
