Norfolk 2 Toledo (Tigers) 4
Lefty 'pen day for the Tides as southpaws Pat McCoy, Wesley Wright, and T.J. McFarland each saw limited action. Teej was the most effective of the bunch, K'ing 3 over his 3 innings of work while yielding just a walk. McCoy & Wright gave up 3 ER over their combined 4 IP, with each issuing 2 walks.
Toledo starter Tim Melville worked on getting the Tides to kill all the worms living in the infield, as he generated 10 groundouts over his 6 innings. Steve Clevenger found the most success, going 1 for 2 with a double and 2 walks. Christian Walker drew a walk and singled, but was also picked off 1B.
Trenton (Yankees) 2 Bowie 5 (6 innings)
Lightening storms resulted in this one being called early. Probably a good thing for Trenton. Trey Mancini has seemingly taken to AA with vim and vigor. 2 for 3 with a SB and a run tonight. He's slashing .367 / .407 / .653 over his 50+ plate appearances thus far. Batting behind Mancini, Lil' Yaz knocked 2 doubles and drove in 2.
Miguel Gonzalez made his first rehab start and was solid over 5 IP. He gave up a 1st inning 2-run dinger to Aaron Judge 'Dredd'. But that'll happen to just about anyone; he has possibly the best power in the minors. Judge is the law. Anyway, 5 IP, 4 H, 1 BB, 4 Ks, and 2 ER for MiGo. He should be back in Charm City sooner rather than later.
