Orioles Minor League Rundown: 7-27-15

The positional prospects the O's do have continue to put up numbers.

Bowie 6 Akron (Cleveland) 1

Trey Mancini got back in the groove with a 3 for 5 night including his 14th double. Brandon Snyder doubled, donged, and drove in 3. Mike Yaz went 2 for 3. Elih Villanueva was strong over 7 IP, limiting the Rubber Ducks to 3 hits and 1 ER. Mychal Givens walked one in an otherwise clean inning.

Winston-Salem (White Sox) 3 Frederick 1

Chance Sisco went 2-4 and scored a run. Josh Hart went 1-4. Chris Lee ran out of gas in the 7th when he put two on after getting 1 out. Normally dominant Donnie Hart allowed both inherited runners to score and coughed up a run of his own though it was deemed unearned due to some shoddy fielding.

Delmarva 9 Augusta (Giants) 5

Jo-Mar! Jo-Mar! Jo-Mar! 1 for 4 with an Earl Weaver Special for the big boy. Yermin Mercedes went 2-5 with 2 runs scored batting in front of Jomar. Stephen Wilkerson went 4-4 with a walk. The '13 8th rounder is having a very nice offensive season, though he is a bit old for the level. Let's get him up to Frederick and see if the O's have an actual INF prospect in the system. That'd be sweet. The Shorebirds dropped a 7 spot in the 2nd and cruised the rest of the way in this one. Josh Walker worked 5+ IP, though he gave up 4 ER.
