Norfolk 2 Pawtucket (Red Sox) 0
Tyler Wilson was fantastic over 7 shutout innings, allowing just 5 hits, 1 walk, and 1 HBP while striking out 4 and inducing 11 groundouts to 3 flyouts. Oliver Drake made things interesting in the 9th with 2 walks, but he closed it out for his 16th Save. Offense came via a Michael Almanzar RBI double in the 2nd inning and a Christian Walker bases loaded walk in the 7th. Henry Urrutia went 2-5 with a double.
Bowie 2 Akron (Cleveland) 1
Trey Mancini doubled in Mike Yastrzemski in the 1st and David Freitas doubled in Tucker Nathans in the 9th, and it seems every Orioles-related team is only capable of scoring 2 runs this night. Freitas finished 3-4 with 2 doubles. Terry Doyle went 7, with the only damage against him being a solo HR. Jason Garcia worked a clean 8th with 1 K and Mychal Givens picked up his 14th Save.
Frederick 2 Carolina (Atlanta) 4
Another 2 run game for an Orioles squad. Where's the offense, fellas? geez...Josh Hart was 1-4 from the leadoff slot. Chance Sisco took an uncharacteristic 0-4. Conor Bierfeldt drove in both Keys' runs with a single in the 7th. Mikey O'Brien K'd 8 over 5 innings. Matt Taylor coughed up 3 ER in his 1.2 innings of relief work.
Aberdeen 5 Auburn (Nats) 8
Finally, some offense. Turns out that it doesn't necessarily wins games though...D.J. Stewart finally got his AVG over the Mendoza line and his OBP up to .300 after a 2-4 with a walk performance. He also stole his first base of the season. Cedric Mullins and Steve Laurino each went 1-4 with a walk. 3 pitchers combined to walk 6 and allow 8 runs, though just 4 were deemed 'Earned' as the Ironbirds were charged with 5 errors and a passed ball. gracious.
