A cavalcade of Cubans...

SO hot!
SO hot!
Christopher McCain

Norfolk Tides 6, Pawtucket Red Sox 1

Dariel Alvarez was 4-5 and drove in three runs as the Tides beat up the Red Sox. Light hitting utility guy Rey Navarro was on base four times and also stole a base. Baby faced assassin Zach Davies tossed six shutout innings, but Pedro "the Ruiner" Beato ruined everything by allowing a run to score in the ninth. Steve Johnson struck out the side in a perfect frame. Johnson's struck out 52 batters in 38.1 innings this season.

Bowie Baysox 4, Trenton Thunder 3

Welcome to minor league baseball, Senor Miranda. While not exactly dominant, Ariel Miranda was solid, but was hard done by a Corban Joseph error in the fifth that led to two unearned runs. Miranda struck out four. That being said, Mikey Yaz tripled and the Baysox somehow prevailed.

Frederick Keys 2, Carolina Mudcats 5

Josh Hart has reached base in the last eight games and was 3-4 with a stolen base. Unfortunately, his teammates didn't seem all that interested in following suit. Keys hitters struck out ten times and Chance Sisco was charged with his seventh passed ball of the year. Newish signing Yaisel Maderos had his first hit in American professional ball with a double. Luis Gonzalez passed the Matusz test and added seven Ks to the equation.

Delmarva Shorebirds vs. Charleston RiverDogs (PPD)

Aberdeen Ironbirds 1, Auburn Doubledays 6

Jeans Cosme probably wants a a mulligan on this one, but Birdswatchers continue to dream on hard throwing, young Cuban Lazaro Leyva. The 6'2" righty threw 3.2 shutout innings. Garrett Cleavinger has yet to be scored on his pro career and Ryan Meisinger also threw a shutout inning.
