The Friday night Orioles game thread: vs. Tigers, 7:05

The Orioles went out and got Gerardo Parra. Now it's time to start winning some games. By the way, Parra isn't even in the starting lineup tonight.

Finally, the trade deadline is over. The Orioles were buyers and also they were sellers. Go figure. New Oriole Gerardo Parra is not in the starting lineup tonight, and Tommy Hunter is heading to Chicago. It's a new-look Orioles team that's somehow still sending out the same lineup as the night before.

Scoring runs wasn't a problem yesterday. Giving up too many runs was. Maybe Wei-Yin Chen can do something about that tonight and not get lit up horribly by a depleted Tigers lineup. They're extra depleted today, since they traded Yoenis Cespedes before the trade deadline. Come on, Orioles! These guys have given up. They're rolling over and playing for the future. That means the time to kick the crap out of them and maybe gain some ground in the standings, or at least not lose any ground, is upon us.

Here's a problem: Tonight's Tigers starter is Buck Farmer, who has an ERA over 9. We have seen what happens to the Orioles against bad pitchers. We saw it last night, where the only hits they got against Alfredo Simon were home runs. It's good to get home runs, for sure, but come on. Get more than just home runs, you dopes. We know you can do it.
