Charlotte (White Sox) 3, Norfolk 1
13 Ks vs. 4 hits and 2 walks. Orioles hitters or Tides hitters? In this case, that would be future Orioles / current Norfolk Tides. They certainly are the spitting image of their pro-level counterparts, aren't they? sigh...Christian Walker had one of the hits and 2 of the Ks. Henry Urrutia and Junior Lake contributed 3 Ks apiece. Chris Jones worked 7 solid innings, allowing 3 ERs via 9 hits, including 2 HRs. He K'd 6 and walked none.
Altoona (Pirates) 4, Bowie 7
The Baysox qualified for the post-season with this win, so congrats to them. Trey Mancini hit his 12th AA dinger (20th overall on the season) and scored 3 runs on the night. Brandon Snyder and Drew Dosch each drove in 2. Glynn Davis went 2 for 4 with a double, and RBI, and a run scored. Chance Sisco took an 0 for 4, but did score once. Chris Lee went 5 innings, allowing 7 hits and 3 ER while striking out 3 and walking 2.
Hickory (Rangers) 0, Delmarva 1
Francisco Jimenez and Tanner Scott combined for a 4 hit shutout, striking out 7 and walking none. (RF) Elier Leyva hit a 7th inning dinger to give the Shorebirds all the offense they would need for the evening. He also doubled as he went 2 for 3 on the night. The rest of the Delmarva offense combined to go 1 for 23 with 9 Ks and 3 walks. ugh.
Vermont (A's) 5, Aberdeen 2
Another double digit K performance in the O's org on the night. I wonder what the record for total organizational whiffs in a single day is? 13 here for the Ironbirds. But at least they took 13 innings to get there. Cedric Mullins took an 0-fer. D.J. Stewart had a single and a K in 5 at bats. Randolph Gassaway K'd 4x. Steve Laurino added 3 more fans. Just crap all around. So it goes...Lazaro Leyva K'd 4 over 3 shutout innings of work. He'll be one of the more interesting arms to watch next season.
