A disappointing series finale in a season of disappointments. On one hand, it seems like going 10-9 against Tampa this year was an achievement, but it also seems like they let so many winnable games slip away. Speaking of letting things slip away, the Orioles travel to Washington for a three game series against the Nats to start the week. At 73-76 a winning season is still within reach.

On this day in 1971, Dave McNally won his 20th game it was the fourth consecutive year McNally would win 20 and he was the first of his rotation-mates to reach 20 that year, though, they all eventually did. The Orioles lost the final game at Yankee Stadium, a tribute to great Baltimorean Babe Ruth, no doubt, on this day in 2008.
