The march towards Spring Training continues. Minicamp concluded with the organization's top two prospects making it out of Sarasota unscathed. The organization opened up its efforts to lock down its arbitration eligible players for the upcoming season and Peter Angelos is maybe looking to relieve himself of some of the money burning a whole in his pocket...a guy can hope.

For whatever reason, January 15th is not a terribly notable day in Orioles history. It is, however, the birthday of should be Hall of Famer Bobby Grich. A less distinguished Orioles second baseman (though a fine player pre-Birdland), Delino DeShields also has a birthday today. Minor leaguer Melvin Dorta's having cake and ice cream today, too.
