Baseball games await at 4:38 and 8:08. I think it's fair to say that most of Birdland has a distinct preference for both of the American League playoff series to be played today. It's easy. In one series you can root for the Blue Jays to lose. In the other series you can root for the Red Sox to lose. If both of those things happen, that would be mighty glorious.
Sadly, hordes of Orioles fans rooting for a particular team to lose does not guarantee it will happen. Rather obviously, since the Orioles haven't won the World Series in my lifetime. The Rangers should be better than the Blue Jays, but you never know what will happen over a best-of-five series. The Indians may not actually be better than the Red Sox because so many of their guys have gotten hurt.
Both games will be airing on TBS. If the quality of these broadcasts is similar to the wild card, well, that's going to suck. That was seriously a terrible broadcast. I don't know why they're so bad. First up in the afternoon are the Jays and Rangers, because of course Boston gets prime time. Lineups for game one are below. I wish the Orioles were still playing.
