Orioles, Yovani Gallardo agree to three year contract, pending physical

The Orioles got their pitcher at last. Yovani Gallardo will join the O's, pending a physical.

The Orioles finally got their man, or at least one of them. They reached an agreement with the free agent righty on Saturday night, pending a physical. MLBNetwork's Jon Heyman was the first to report the news.

According to Heyman and others, the contract will cover three years with $35 million guaranteed to Gallardo, with some money deferred from the contract term. There's also an option for a fourth year, writes The Baltimore Sun's Eduardo Encina, which is a club option for $13 million.

Another local writer, MASN's Roch Kubatko, adds that talks started to get more serious with Gallardo yesterday. Perhaps not coincidentally, yesterday the O's were rumored by Heyman to have "big interest" in the comeback effort of Tim Lincecum.

So it's finally done, and Kubatko adds that Dexter Fowler might still be next. The Orioles top draft pick, 14th overall, will be gone when the contract is finalized. That's a debate from now until eternity, or at least until Gallardo does well enough that we forget.

Now that it's all done, how do you find yourself feeling about it?
