Orioles Game 16 Game Thread: at Royals, 7:15

Peter G. Aiken-USA TODAY Sports

For the most part, there's nowhere to go but up for the Orioles on Saturday night, following an outing where their starting pitcher lasted only two innings and they struck out ten times against a guy who hadn't struck out ten batters in a game since 2008. That's a true story. Chris Young's last ten strikeout game came on a night where the Orioles (playing elsewhere) had Adam Loewen as their starting pitcher.

Actually, since the O's "only" lost the game 4-2, they could do far worse tonight, and worse things could happen than what happened last night. Tonight's starter, Tyler Wilson, could get blasted even harder than did Yovani Gallardo before he left the game. The Orioles could get no-hit by Kris Medlen or something. Baseball is weird.

Speaking of weird, Hyun Soo Kim's in the starting lineup tonight - and in left field, which in cavernous Kauffman could prove to be interesting... and not in a good way. That said, with Pedro Alvarez slumping, I'd rather see Kim than Alvarez for a little while. See what he can do already, huh?
