Welcome back, Kevin Gausman!

OK, so we don't actually have much of an idea of how good Kevin Gausman will or won't be. But I, for one, am fairly confident that he'll be better than what we've been seeing lately. Orioles starters this season have a combined ERA of 5.32. Surely Gausman is capable of better.

Pitching for the Rays tonight is Chris Archer, who is generally thought of as one of the better pitchers in baseball. So far this season that hasn't been the case. He's logged a 7.32 ERA which includes a game against the Orioles in which he gave up six runs in five innings. Nolan Reimold, Manny Machado, Chris Davis, and Jonathan Schoop all homered off of Archer in that game.

That's not to say that I have much confidence in the Orioles against Archer. I don't think that he's going to pitch this poorly the entire year, and he has the track record to back him up. One day soon he's going to get it together, and for all we know it could be tonight.
