Orioles Game 22 Game Thread: vs. White Sox, 7:05

Evan Habeeb-USA TODAY Sports

The Orioles offense finally got out of its slump yesterday, but was that an actual resurgence or just the good fortune of getting to face a struggling John Danks? Most of the same fellows will be at it again tonight, so we will get a sense of whether it was them or whether it was Danks.

The challenge awaiting them tonight is Carlos Rodon. He is a lefty who is not of the soft-tossing variety. So far in the 2016 season, Rodon is having problems throwing strikes, evidenced by his walking 10 of the 88 batters he's faced. That's probably also why he's only averaging five innings per game started. Those are some Oriole-like numbers.

Getting into the Sox bullpen is not necessarily a plus, as that unit is very strong, or at least has been so far this year. An ideal scenario would be if they were able to work some walks and do a bunch of damage to Rodon before the back end Sox pitchers have a chance to impact the game. The better O's pitchers are rested, at least, with none of Brad Brach, Darren O'Day, or Zach Britton being needed to get through yesterday's game.

Watch out for Rodon, though, as he's also struck out 20 batters in his 20 innings and we know how the Orioles love to strike out. Oh, and Mike Wright is starting for the O's - so basically hold on to your butts.
