We have waited for this every day since early October, when the last Orioles season ended. They are back, finally. No one can say for sure what will happen this year, though that hasn't stopped many from trying. Let's face it, it wouldn't be much fun if no one said anything when they don't know anything.
It's fitting in a lot of ways that it's the Twins whom the O's will face right off the bat. They didn't beat the Twins at all this year. It'll be just a game, and yet, it'll feel like so much more than one game. If the Orioles win today, if Chris Tillman pitches well and they hit five home runs and they get the Twins monkey off their back, the sense of infinite possibility for positive things will remain about this season.
If, on the other hand, they lose to the Twins, if Tillman gets wrecked (or as the kids these days say, REKT) and the supposedly-potent O's lineup is mysteriously stymied by freaking Ervin Santana, then what? It shan't be pretty. So let's not think about that until we have to.
