It's surely not the Orioles lineup anybody imagined that we would be getting four games into the season, but it's the one we're going to get all the same, and this as the O's go up against Chris Archer, who is pretty good. Well, good luck, fellas. You'll need it.
Maybe the Hall of Fame legend of J. Mark Rickard will continue to grow or something. Maybe Ryan Flaherty will keep having some modest success against Archer (.790 OPS in 17 PA). Chris Davis has some good numbers too (1.163 OPS in 17 PA), as does Manny Machado (.921 OPS in 23 PA) who, yes, is a shortstop tonight.
The Orioles haven't started 4-0 since the 2011 season, which kind of turned out to not be a very good season until the very, very end of it. So if they win tonight it doesn't tell us that anything is guaranteed to be good. If they lose tonight it also doesn't mean that things are guaranteed to be bad. It's just one baseball game, and it will be more fun if they win it.
A wild card for tonight's game is how Chris Tillman will pitch on short rest after going only two innings on Opening Day. He did look really good for those two innings, didn't he? But it's a new day, a new game, and hopefully today he'll be going longer than two innings.
