Orioles Game 50 Game Thread: vs. Red Sox, 7:05

Tommy Gilligan-USA TODAY Sports

It's a new day and it doesn't matter by how many runs the Orioles lost yesterday. All they have to do is win one today and they've evened up the series at a game apiece and pulled themselves back to within a game of the AL East lead. Better to win the first than lose the first, but they can make up for what happened yesterday.

Whether they will is another story entirely, as always. They won't have an easy task as they'll be going up against former Orioles minor leaguer Eduardo Rodriguez, who will be making his first start of the 2016 season. Perhaps they can take advantage if he is rusty? That's a nice theory, though we all know how well the Orioles tend to do with taking advantage of starting pitchers. Namely, they do it less than you'd like.

.287 OBP guy Adam Jones is still leading off. The feast or famine lineup is mostly in a famine. And so on, and so on, but if Kevin Gausman can spin a gem tonight and the Orioles score some runs, nobody will worry about all of that for one night.
