The New York Yankees are professionals; finely-tuned machines; routine-driven athletes that must adhere to certain schedules day in and day out. When you take away their hour or so of on-field batting practice, they will, understandably, perform poorly and be dominated by a pitcher like Chris Tillman.
Welp, that is EXACTLY what happened yesterday. Orioles manager Buck Showalter DENIED the Bronx Bombers an opportunity to warm-up correctly, and it cost them the win, falling to the Birds 4-1 on Tuesday night. Joey G was irked.
"They're covering the field?" Girardi said while speaking with the media. "Of course, THEY hit and (now) they're covering the field."
THAT'S WHY THEY LOST! Isn't it obvious? The Orioles cannot handle these legendary Yankees when they are properly prepared to do battle. They have to sink to the depths of "gamesmanship" and pull out the classic "No BP for you" trick; the oldest in the book!
More on tarp-gate: Buck said #orioles cut short BP to let NY on field, but forecast showed storm approaching. No gamesmanship

Yeah, yeah, yeah. SURE. We're not buying the lies, Showalter! Take that noise to someone who wants to listen.
Of course, there is also the possibility that the Orioles are just a lot better than the Yankees. Now, for some tweets to back me up:
Orioles lead the AL in batting avg with RISP at .317 and New York is 13th at .203. Yankees went 0-for-2 with RISP in scoreless top of 1st.

Manny Machado is batting .450/.522/.750 (9-for-20) in his last five games. He's posted four multi-hit games. #orioles

O's have won 6 in a row vs. NYY for first time since 1997. Club record is 9 in a row from Aug. 15, 1967 to May 22, 1968.

Kick 'em while they're down, boys.
