Orioles Game 60 Game Thread: at Blue Jays, 7:07

Thomas B. Shea-USA TODAY Sports

The Orioles have won five games in a row. It's fun when the Orioles win. If they're going to make it six games in a row they're going to have to pull off a win in a game where the Blue Jays are starting Marco Estrada. He's having the season of his career with a 0.978 WHIP through 11 starts. That's how you end up with a 2.41 ERA.

When he last faced the Orioles, it was April 21 and Estrada held the Orioles to a run on six hits in five innings. That was Estrada's only start of the year to date where he's gone fewer than five innings. I said fewer instead of less, take that! Estrada struck out nine guys and walked four in this particular game, which the Blue Jays ended up losing after tagging the Jays bullpen for a run in each of the seventh and eighth innings.

The good news, or at least it's potentially good news, is that Kevin Gausman is starting for the Orioles. He's good, right? We're trying to will him to be good. Some day maybe he will be good. So far this year he hasn't been bad. If we're lucky he won't be bad tonight. It's hard to win six games in a row. Something will probably go wrong tonight to ensure that the Orioles do not do so.
