Norfolk Tides 4, Leigh Valley Iron Pigs 5 (10)

Ozzie Martinez tripled and T.J. McFarkand allowed two homers in five innings of work. Richard Rodriguez, acquired from Houston last season, pitched a pair of shutout innings. The 26 year old Dominican had been scored upon in his three previous outings, so maybe he's getting things together. The Tides made this one interesting with a brief comeback in the 8th to push extra innings, but ultimately fell in the 10th.

Aberdeen Ironbirds 1, Staten Island Yankees 5

Ryan McKenna, a prep bat selected in the 2015 draft, hit his first professional homer on a night in which the 19 year old centerfielder was 3-4. Unfortunately, no one else did much of anything for the Ironbirds with the exception of Randolph Gassaway. The 22 year old veteran of two previous Aberdeen campaigns smacked his third extra base of the year. Dariel Delgado was fine in relief, pitching four innings and striking our five.
