I wasn't sure for a while, but the Orioles are much better with Manny Machado in the lineup. The All-World third baseman made his return from suspension yesterday and picked up right where he left off. Now back at the hot corner with the return of J.J. Hardy, Machado had two hits, including a home run and played stellar defense. This is fun.
It would be more fun if Kevin Gausman could get his first win of 2016 today. It is getting a little ridiculous at this point. Sure, he has not been great lately, but he has done more than enough to earn a W. He will be opposed by the Rays righty Matt Andriese, who is undefeated this year (6-0, 2.88 ERA) so it won't be easy.
But that is why they play the games!
