Orioles Game 84 Game Thread: at Dodgers, 3:10

Jim Cowsert-USA TODAY Sports

The west coast trip is finally ending. No more weird times for games. We just have to endure one more weird start time, where the Orioles are finishing their game, rather than starting it, as you're thinking about sitting down to dinner.

It's pretty weird that the Orioles are going to face former teammate Bud Norris. Sure, Norris was likely never going to be on the 2016 O's squad even if he had a better 2015 season - his struggles last year to be blamed on either bronchitis or a stomach virus he picked up in Thailand after the 2014 season, depending on which article you read and believed over the past week. Even if the O's hadn't DFA'd Norris, he was set to be a free agent regardless.

Still, his trade to the Dodgers was rather sudden, and weirdly accompanied by gleeful media takers in both Houston and Atlanta popping up to talk about how horrible Norris was, as a person, to deal with. Maybe he was just miserable on crappy teams in cheap organizations that regularly disrespect their players?

Anyway, Norris is probably going to throw a no-hitter today to inflict maximum pain on Orioles fans. But if some unlikely thing occurs and the Orioles end up winning to get out of Los Angeles with a series win, the O's will escape from LA with a 4-5 record on their west coast trip. That's not great but it could have be worse. Like if they lose, then it'll be a 3-6 road trip.
