GameThread for Baltimore Orioles at New York Yankees, Aug 28, 2016 1:05 PM EDT

The Orioles have been playing like crap the past few days. Will the return of Tommy Hunter give them the jumpstart they need?

Tommy Gilligan-USA TODAY Sports

The Orioles will try to avoid being swept today. They have been clinging to that second wild card and still manage to hold a one-game lead over the Tigers. But there are a lot of teams nipping at their heels and if they don't want to lose it, they need to start winning games immediately. And how to do that?

Oh yeah. The Orioles also called up Oliver Drake and DFA's Julio Borbon and T.J. McFarland. Adam Jones isn't in the lineup today, but hopefully the Borbon DFA means that he'll be back soon. I can't take too much of Nolan Reimold in CF.

The Yankees were originally going to start Michael Pineda in this series, but flipped him with CC Sabathia who, you may recall, is left handed. So there is that.

Can the Orioles win today to hold on to their position in the wild card race and avoid the sweep? Will Kevin Gausman continue to have road woes? Will Steve Pearce be able ot make throws from right field? Tune in to find out!
