Norfolk Tides 5, Gwinett Braves 6

Tyler WIlson and T.J. McFarland got worked over pretty well by the Braves, but Richard Rodriguez turned in a perfect outing to keep things within reach. It was all for naught. Pedro Beato allowed the winning run to score in the bottom of the ninth. The X Man reached base four times from the leadoff spot and Corban, brother of Caleb swatted an Earl Weaver Special. The younger Joseph has had a nice August.

Bowie Baysox 7, Harrisurg Senators 6

The Baysox fought off a furious ninth inning rally in order to prevail in this Battle of the Beltways in miniature. Jason Garcia walked four in five innings, but only allowed one run. Chance Sisco singled, doubled and walked twice while Joey Terdoslavich and Garabez Rosa each had three hit games. Sisco allowed two more steals and his CS% is now down to 27% on the year, which is not as bad you might expect, all things considered.

Aberdeen Ironbirds 2, State College Spikes 5

All the damage was done on Travis Seabrooke's watch. The young Canadian allowed five earned runs aided by two homers. 2016 draft pick James Teague pitched three scoreless innings of relief. After slumping for a stretch, Cole Billingsley showed signs of shaking off the rust with his third multihit game in his last four. Billingsley doubled twice and stole his10th base.
