We saw the "debut" of one trade deadline acquisition yesterday when Steve Pearce went 0-for-2 with a walk and two strikeouts. Tonight, it is Wade Miley's turn to don the orange and black for the first time.
If the Orioles win, they will also regain the moniker of "best AL team", for the evening at least. They had it last night, but then the Indians won today, giving themselves a 61-45 record, which is the exact record the O's come into tonight with. Obviously, another W for the Birds would give them a half-game advantage.
If you didn't know, Miley is a southpaw. This will be the first game started by a left-handed pitcher in an Orioles uniform all season. It would have been kind of cool to go the whole summer without one, but I guess we will just have to deal with not being historic.
Wade Miley is first LHP to start for #orioles this season. Only time they went entire season without a lefty starting was 2002.

Speaking of history, Zach Britton is really, really good at his job. He now has the third-most saves all-time for the O's. And...
Zach Britton’s 33 consecutive saves to start a season are the most by a left-handed pitcher in @MLB history. #Birdland @zbritton

On top of that, his 106 careers saves are the most ever for an Orioles left-handed pitcher. Eat that, B.J. Ryan!
But enough of that, let's give you the lineups and get to the game. Let's go O's!
