There is nothing good to be said for baseball played on the west coast, unless you live on the west coast, in which case, I bear you no ill will for the choice that either you or your forebears made to end up in that place. I hope you survive the Big One.
Here we are with another swing out west for late night Orioles baseball. A three hour game would end after one o'clock in the morning. Yuck. Seriously. Let's hope the Orioles are better at handling the time zone than fans are going to be.
The last time they were out west, they went 4-5, with the five losses all coming in a row, including a mystifying four game sweep at the hands of the Mariners. There will be seven games out west this time around. If they go 3-4, they'll be .500 on the road trip overall. For the Orioles, who haven't been good on the road, that's not an awful outcome, but, with their competition only a game behind, going 3-4 over the next week doesn't sound like a good way to stay in first place.
This is a battle of the KGs. The starting pitchers are Kevin Gausman and Kendall Graveman. The last time the Orioles faced Graveman, back in early May, the O's tagged him for six runs in 2.2 innings. Let's run that one again.
