Here we go again. Another game against Boston. This time, Steve Pearce will not be in left field and Wade Miley will not be starting out on the mound for the Orioles. Those are both good things, although it remains to be seen whether Dylan Bundy being on the mound or Nolan Reimold being in left field are good things.
Hopefully, the extra day of rest that Bundy has gotten before making this start will help him carry the better form that we've seen in some of his outings. The Orioles certainly need it. I worry about him, though - like, real worry, not just "I say I'm worried because I don't know how not to worry about the Orioles" like I usually am on this website. What if he's beyond where one day of rest can help him? What if they're messing him up for next year?
But whether you think the Orioles know what they're doing or not, they surely know more than me. So hopefully what they know is what's best for Bundy for now and the future.
Out-of-town scoreboard watching for tonight: Root for the Rays against the Blue Jays, the Twins against the Tigers, the Dodgers against the Yankees, and the Angels against the Mariners. Of course, the most important thing is that the Orioles find a way to beat Boston when Boston is starting a lefty for the second game in a row. And if they do that they'll be back to just two games back in the AL East, and maybe they'll even put some distance on some of these other jokers.
