GameThread for Baltimore Orioles at Toronto Blue Jays, Sep 27, 2016 7:07 PM EDT

Here we go, kids. It's time to play the Blue Jays.

Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Sports

Here is what could happen in this series:

  1. The Orioles sweep and leave Toronto with a two-game lead for the first wild card spot. They will also own the tie-breaker against the Jays in the event that they end the season tied. That'd be head-to-head record.
  2. The Orioles win two out of three and go into their final series tied with the Blue Jays. However, with a 9-10 head-to-head record, the tiebreaker would go to the Blue Jays.
  3. The Orioles win one out of three and leave Toronto two games behind the Jays, which would very likely destroy all hopes of getting that first wild card.
  4. The Orioles are swept. PANIC PANIC PANIC PANIC PANIC.

On the mound tonight looking for the first win in a hopeful sweep is Kevin Gausman. Hopefully that intercostal is all healed up or the O's could be in trouble. They could also be in trouble on account of Aaron Sanchez starting for the Blue Jays.

It's gonna be a tense three days, friends. Hold on to your butts.
