With last night's win over the Blue Jays, the Orioles did a few things. They tied for the first Wild Card spot. They tightened the American League playoff picture. And they eliminated the New York Yankees from postseason contention. Well, this could be a little awkward.
The O's face-off with those Yankees in the Bronx tonight and need to just keep on winning. Unfortunately, the Bombers are hot right now, having just swept the Red Sox. And look at their lineup down there, they aren't sitting anybody of note. Come on, guys! I thought we were friends. Help us out a little bit.
Who knows if this game even gets played tonight. It's been raining in New York all day, but it will probably keep doing that all weekend. These three games have to happen one way or another.
Out of town scoreboard watch: Toronto @ Boston, 7:10 p.m., Detroit @ Atlanta, 7:35 p.m., Oakland @ Seattle, 10:10 p.m. Tonight, we are all Red Sox, Braves and Athletics fans.
