Orioles spring training game thread vs. Tigers

You’ve seen Orioles on TV if you’ve been watching the World Baseball Classic. Today you can see many more in a spring training game on MASN.

How about that World Baseball Classic, huh? We’re going to have to wait another day to get any more of that excitement. Today, all there is to entertain us, at least as far as baseball is concerned, is an Orioles spring training game. On the bright side, breaking the usual policy of “don’t let fans see or hear O’s spring games,” today’s game will be televised on MASN.

If you just want to watch basketball games all day, I guess that’s cool, too. Let’s face it, the A-list of the Orioles isn’t taking the field here when you look at a lineup like this:

  1. Joey Rickard - LF
  2. Craig Gentry - CF
  3. J.J. Hardy - SS
  4. Mark Trumbo - DH
  5. Chris Davis - 1B
  6. Trey Mancini - RF
  7. Chris Johnson - 3B
  8. Paul Janish - 2B
  9. Caleb Joseph - C

With Kevin Gausman as the starting pitcher. Yes, it’s true, there will be video evidence of Mancini in the outfield today - for better or for worse.

Now that the Dominican Republic is out of the World Baseball Classic, Manny Machado and Welington Castillo will soon be back in Orioles camp. Perhaps they’ll be playing by the next televised game on Wednesday night and something closer to a real Orioles lineup will be playing in the game. Opening Day is coming.
