The Orioles and Red Sox face off tonight for the second and final game in their series, with the Orioles looking to avoid getting swept. Have I ever mentioned that I don't like two-game series? So dumb.
Pitching for the Red Sox tonight is knuckleballer Steven Wright, which could be bad new for the Orioles who never seem to do well against those types. Last season Wright picked up two wins in two tries against the Orioles, including a complete game in which he walked five but only gave up two runs.
It would behoove the Orioles to score a lot of runs if they can, because taking the mound for them is Ubaldo Jimenez. Ubaldo had a rough first game, giving up five runs in just 4 1/3 innings, but he actually didn't do it in typical Ubaldo fashion. Instead of walking the world as he normally does when off his game, Ubaldo only walked one. He did, unfortunately, give up two home runs.
In the head scratcher category is the fact that Trey Mancini is again playing left field, this time against a righty. You'd expect to see Hyun-Soo Kim in that spot.
Let's go O's!
