The Orioles woke up this morning with a 1.5 game lead in the American League East. Sure, it’s only eight games into the season, but if you could have signed up for this start two weeks ago, I think you would have. I certainly would have.
That’s just a bit less than five percent of the season, hardly long enough to draw any conclusions about anything. But even knowing that, it’s enough for the good things to be exciting and the bad things to be worrisome.
So my question for you today is simple:
How are you feeling about the Orioles right now?
Comments are closed on this post. Tell us what you’re thinking by writing a FanPost. You only need to write 75 words. I bet you’ve got way more words than that to say about the Orioles.
Is optimism reigning in your heart? Maybe you’re excited by the hot starts of Chris Davis and Trey Mancini, or perhaps you can’t wait to get more of Dylan Bundy pitching in your life.
Or perhaps you’re more of a Debbie Downer type and you can’t stop thinking about all of the potential bad parts of the Orioles starting rotation, that Zach Britton hasn’t looked sharp and Darren O’Day has been even shakier. Maybe you even fall somewhere in between.
No one who has been reading this website for a while will be surprised to know that I’m in the worrying camp. The Ubaldo Jimenez, Wade Miley, probably Alec Asher segment of the rotation has me worried, and they’ll be pitching in 60% of Orioles games until Chris Tillman comes back.
The Orioles have been lucky to win some of the games they’ve won so far. They’re already 4-0 in one-run games, something that surely won’t continue if O’Day and Britton don’t settle down.
But I’m trying not to worry about it too much because so far it’s all working out. The Orioles are in first place. Life is good.
