Sports are really just big, expensive soap operas. There are heroes and villains. Colorful "costumes". Makeup. And episodes that no one cares about airing in the middle of the day. Baseball is not immune from this, of course. It makes you feel real emotions, and the Orioles have been running the gambit the last couple of days.
On Tuesday's edition of "Orioles Baseball" we saw young stud Kevin Gausman get knocked around by the up-and-coming whipper-snappers of the the Cincinnati Reds. Ohhhh! Meanwhile, old man Bronson Arroyo twirled a gem, keeping the slugging Birds off balance while maintaining a perfect hairstyle throughout the evening.
All hope looked lost for the Baltimore boys as their dreams rested on the arm of lovable buffoon Ubaldo Jimenez, normally seen tripping over banana peels on his way back to the dugout after allowing a bajillion runs in 1.2 innings. Surely there was no way he could best rookie sensation Amir Garrett? But you know the story. Jimenez was fantastic and Garrett made just enough mistakes for the Birds to sneak by with a win. Such drama!
Tonight! Our heros return in the stunning conclusion of *dun dun DUN* "Baseballs of Fire!!" *cue obviously canned applause* With special guest Hyun Soo Kim, but you better get there early, because rumors are spreading that Kim may be killed off somewhere around the seventh inning.
Enjoy the show!
