Over the past four games, all wins for the Orioles, the starters have given up a total three runs. The last starting pitcher to pitch poorly was today's starter, Kevin Gausman. Gausman has not been what we hoped for so far this season, but it's early and today would be a great day for him to start to turn it around.
The Orioles are going for the sweep against the Red Sox, and a win would not only put the Red Sox four games behind the Orioles in the standings, it could possibly push them down to fourth place in the close division race (Blue Jays excluded, LOL).
Pitching against the Orioles today is former O's prospect Eduardo Rodriguez, a player that causes much hand wringing amongst the fan base. After a promising 2015 season in which we watched sadly from afar the pitcher that could be in the rotation, Rodriguez had an uneven 2016 and hasn't been much to write home about so far this season. But he is very talented and, like with Gausman, it is still very early.
It's hard to make any predictions either way regarding this game, so I will just say let's go O's!
