Orioles prospects (5/12): Tebow Time washed away

New, 3 comments

Rain washed away most O’s affiliates games, including a double header featured Tim Tebow at Delmarva, but baby Birds managed to win 1 of 2 played.

Norfolk 11, Indianapolis (Pirates) 4

Tides batters collected 11 hits to go with those 11 runs, as three Tides had two hits each and only Pedro Alvarez went hitless. Oh, El Toro, where has your bat gone...

Jordan Kipper picked up the win as starting pitcher, going the minimum 5.0 IP for the win and allowing 4 R (just 2 ER) on five hits. He also struck out three while walking none. Richard Bleier pitched one scoreless inning for the hold and Stephan Crichton went three scoreless for his first AAA save this season.

Frederick 1, Wilmington (Royals) 2

The Keys collected six hits, including two doubles, and four walks, but those 10 baserunners translated into just one run. Seven strikeouts by the team didn’t help. Starter Cody Sedlock did just enough to lose, allowing 2 R (1ER) in 5.1 IP with five hits and four walks allowed against four strikeouts.

Bowie vs Richmond (PPD)

Delmarva vs Columbia (DH) (CAN)

The double-header at Salisbury against Tim Tebow’s Columbia team has been canceled. I’m sure the ticket sales office was just thrilled to hear that. So Shorebirds fans got see Tebow for just one game (he sat against the LHP on Thursday). So glad we had all that hype for his visit..
