Monday Bird Droppings: The Orioles get the day off

In the off day edition of Orioles links, Dylan Bundy is finally hitting the jackpot, the Seth Smith trade is paying off, and what makes Trey Mancini different from other Orioles sluggers.

Jay Biggerstaff-USA TODAY Sports

The Orioles get to collect their thoughts today before beginning a three game series in Detroit in tomorrow. This weekend's brutal sweep at the hand of the hated Royals puts the O's in the midst of a four game losing streak. Four straight one run losses. Very un-2012, dudes.

Many people are saying that Kevin Gausman needs to get his act together,

...that being said, the O's are a half game out of first, a few games up on the rest of the pack in the division and in the lead for the first wild card, if that's of any utility in mid-May (it is, unfortunately, not).

Camden Depot: Seth Smith Acquisition Is Paying Dividends For every complaint about how Hyun-Soo Kim has been used (or not used) this season, it has to be said Seth Smith has been deployed to great effect.

FanRag: Trey Mancini has different feel than recent Orioles surprise sluggers Jon Bernhardt continues to work the Orioles beat.

...and I saw this retweeted this morning. It's from October, but worth the time for a broad cross section of the CC reading public.
