The Orioles have lost four games in a row, which is long enough that it feels like they're never going to win another game. You may experience this feeling in your own life, if you've ever been sick for nearly a week. After three days of that, it all feels dramatic, like you forget what being healthy is and as if you'll never know that feeling again. But since you're reading these words, I'm guessing you got better and didn't die. So it is with the Orioles.
To stop this losing streak, they will turn heavily to the efforts of Wade Miley. That's not very heartening if you watched him pitch last year. It's more heartening if you look at his 2017 ERA and don't look at his 2017 walk rate. It feels like Miley is overdue for some regression, and not the good kind of regression - and if that happens tonight it's not going to be a good thing to witness.
Oh, and the Orioles are facing a left-handed pitcher tonight, so, you know how that goes.
