So, the Orioles finally won a road game. It can be done! Now, can they win a second one and manage to avoid falling back below .500 and possibly into last place in the American League East? That is the question for today.
As you probably know, the Orioles haven't been very good in day games this season, and they haven't been very good on the road, either. Not a great sign. And I haven't even gotten into the fact that today's starting pitcher is Chris Tillman, who is sitting with an ERA of 8.01 after seven starts here. Ouch. He's at the point where, rather than expecting him to ever pitch well, it's more a question of whether or not Tillman can at least manage to pass the Matusz Test.
That is, can he keep his ERA from going even higher? Pretty much all Tilllman has to do is give up fewer runs than his innings pitched in the game. That's it! It is easier said than done, if you're the 2017 version of Tillman.
