MLB.com (N/A; LW: 18th)
MLB.com only does a Top 20. Guess what team is no longer in its Top 20.
Bleacher Report Power Rankings (25th; LW: 22nd)
Joel Reuter drops the O’s to 25th. I’d like to argue, but I’m not sure I can, even given the first two games this week.
CBS Sports (25th; LW: 22nd)
Matt Synder drops the O’s three spots. “While it might be jarring for O's fans to see both Zach Britton and Brad Brach to be traded, think about what relievers go for on the July trade market these days. It could be a gigantic return.”
reddit’s Power Poll (N/A; LW:23rd)
The community editors over at reddit did not do a ranking this week. Odd.
OddsShark.com (N/A; LW: 29th)
Ranks are based on rolling past 20 games overall. They will typically be the lowest rankings the O’s receive, and they are even more pessimistic than most, and I forgot to update them at home, and the school internet connection I’m on has it blocked. Sorry!
ESPN.com Power rankings (21st; LW: 24th)
The World-Wide Leader lifts the Orioles three spots this week. Everyone wants to be an outlier, I guess. “Manny Machado has picked up the pace. He hit .205 in April and May with just a .691 OPS in 50 games, but in 36 games in June and July, he's hitting .270 with a .815 OPS. He's striking out a lot less, too -- just a 16 percent strikeout rate, compared to 22 percent of the time in those first two months.”
Rotoworld (21st; LW: 21st)
Jesse Pantuosco leaves the O’s at 21st. “The Orioles didn’t show much fight against the Cubs last weekend, losing three straight by a combined score of 27-11. Welington Castillo got off to a hot start this year but has fallen apart over the last two months, batting .190 with 28 strikeouts since June 1 (84 at-bats). Kevin Gausman sports a league-worst 6.39 ERA and could be headed back to Triple-A if he doesn’t have a quick turnaround. The Orioles haven’t finished with a losing record since 2011 but they’re going to need a big second half to keep that streak intact.”
USA Today (XXth; LR: 17th)
The Nation’s Newspaper’s did not update their Power Rankings this week. Is everyone off in July now?
Power Rankings Guru (22nd; LW: 2nd)
PRG is an aggregate of several national power rankings/polls, the O’s stay at 22nd.
SI.com: The 30 (25th; Last Ranking: 21st)
Jonah Keri is only doing his rankings once every two weeks. This week focuses on the National League, and Keri drops the O’s three places with no explanation. But really, does he need one? I think not.
