Saturday night Orioles game thread: vs. Astros, 7:05

The Orioles might have had a chance yesterday if their starting pitching was better. Tonight, it’s Chris Tillman facing the Astros. Yeah.

The Orioles gave it a good shot yesterday, it must be said, with their offense battling back to make a close game out of another miserable pitching performance. Good shots are not going to be enough to get them anywhere good, though. They need to win if they want to go anywhere.

It’s not going to be easy to win against the Astros. No one this season has found it easy to win against the Astros. That’s why they have the best winning percentage in the American League. Be that as it may, the Orioles play them tonight and they play them again tomorrow, so unless they want to go on a three game losing streak, they need to find a way.

Is the 2017 edition of Chris Tillman capable of finding a way? Are the Orioles hitters capable of finding a way against an Astros pitching staff that may just be precisely oriented towards destroying teams full of hitters like the Orioles? We will get some answers to these questions on Saturday night. Hopefully storms passing through the area on Saturday afternoon don’t linger long enough to mess up the game.
