Assuming the rain stays away enough to play, there will be a baseball game at Oriole Park at Camden Yards on Saturday night. If the weather doesn’t sufficiently rain on your Saturday, Wade Miley may well be the one to do it instead.
The O’s win on Friday night was quite the dramatic one. It certainly felt good and was good that the Orioles were able to gain wild card ground. But it won’t mean a whole lot if they stumble today. Time is running out. The O’s can’t afford to keep doing two steps forward and two steps back.
It’s not going to be easy on Saturday. Pitching for the Jays is Marcus Stroman, who’s been their best starter this season. That would be a tough draw even if it wasn’t the MLB leader in WHIP (Miley) pitching against him.
Both the Twins and the Angels will be in action in the 7 o’clock hour. If you want to see them taken down a peg tonight, your rooting interests are the Royals and Rangers. As you may know, those teams are also both still entertaining wild card dreams, so an Orioles win is also important to keep a buffer between the O’s and the rest of the wild card pretenders.
