The Orioles hopes for the season are officially over and we are finally getting a lineup that looks like it. I guess we are, anyway. The only surprise, so to speak, is Chance Sisco at catcher.
Things have also worked out where J.J. Hardy gets the start in what might be his final home game as an Oriole. That’s likely a result of Tim Beckham having a little hamstring problem after running hard to first base in last night’s game. It’s nice for a longtime Oriole to be able to get one last salute from the home crowd like that.
The original version of this post had a bunch of words written about Dylan Bundy. As it turns out, Bundy was scratched from the start with about 90 minutes to go before first pitch. He will be replaced by Chris Tillman. That’s a brutal switcharoo. As of this moment, no reason has been provided for the change. I’m not saying you should panic, but I’m not saying you shouldn’t panic.
