The Dodgers lost the first game of the World Series to the Red Sox. Hopefully they don’t lose again tonight!

After a World Series Game 1 in which the Dodgers saw their chances of beating the Red Sox diminished by a dagger of a home run from Eduardo Nunez, the two teams are back in action on Wednesday night to determine whether Boston takes a 2-0 lead across the country to Los Angeles or whether the teams will switch venues with a 1-1 tie.

Perhaps in an attempt to remind the country of that short period of time where the Red Sox were not hated with equal fervor to the Yankees, they are having a bunch of 2004 guys throw out a bunch of “first pitches” before tonight’s game. This has nothing to do with anything. It’s just a thing that is happening.

Here is another thing that happened today:

I don’t even know what to say about that, so let’s move on to the lineups. The visiting Dodgers, who are starting Hyun-jin Ryu for the game:

  1. Brian Dozier - 2B
  2. Justin Turner - 3B
  3. David Freese - 1B
  4. Manny Machado - SS
  5. Chris Taylor - LF
  6. Matt Kemp - DH
  7. Enrique Hernandez - CF
  8. Yasiel Puig - RF
  9. Austin Barnes - C

And the home team Red Sox, who will hopefully still lose this series in five games:

  1. Mookie Betts - RF
  2. Andrew Benintendi - LF
  3. Steve Pearce - 1B
  4. J.D. Martinez - DH
  5. Xander Bogaerts - SS
  6. Rafael Devers - 3B
  7. Ian Kinsler - 2B
  8. Jackie Bradley Jr. - CF
  9. Christian Vasquez

The Red Sox starter is David Price, who had a good start in his last postseason outing to show people who doubted that he can win in October. I hope he gets destroyed tonight.
