Happy Pi Day, Camden Chatters! Will you be celebrating with a slice of your favorite flavor today? Mark Trumbo won’t.
We’re not only halfway through the work week, we are also closing in on two weeks to Opening Day. Even though part of me is dreading watching the Orioles this season, a bigger part of me can’t wait for it to get here. Once the season starts we can throw away all of the speculation and really see what we’ve got. Maybe we’ll be pleasantly surprised.
And we’ll be there soon, as Opening Day is just 15 days away! It being 15 days away means that we are five days away from me checking the extended weather forecast every day to see how things are shaping up for my first day at Camden Yards of the season.
Uniform number 15 was worn last season by utility infielder Johnny Giavotella and Chance Sisco upon his call up. He continues to wear it this spring. My most memorable #15, for some reason, is Kevin Millar.
If you missed hearing about yesterday’s game, it’s probably for the best. The Orioles won, but not before going hitless against Lance Lynn for three innings. But who needs that guy, when the Orioles have Chris Tillman? Tillman faced 14 batters and walked six of them. So that went well.
If you’ll be near a TV today, you can watch Orioles baseball! The Orioles play the Yankees at 1 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on both MASN and MLBN. It’s also being broadcast locally on 105.7 The Fan. Miguel Castro will be the starting pitcher.

If most of the team just plays to the very top of their potential, maybe things could go okay for the Orioles. That's not a tall order at all.

Is this true? I guess maybe, but with Tim Beckham on the roster as well, it seems like when needed he could act as the backup in the middle infield. Although, aren't utility guys supposed to be good at defense?

Is today your birthday? Happy birthday! You have three Orioles birthday buddies. Kevin Brown spent just one season in his long career with the Orioles, putting up at 3.60 ERA in 26 starts in 1995. Randor Bierd appeared in 29 games for the 2008 Orioles, and Josh Stinson appeared in parts of both 2013 and 2014 for the Birds.
