Wednesday afternoon Orioles spring training game thread: vs. Yankees

The Yankees come to Sarasota for a little spring training action today, and the game will actually be on TV. Woo! Enjoy it if you can.

Opening Day may still be 15 days away, but there's still spring training, and the Orioles are actually on MASN this afternoon. The MASN broadcast will also be played on MLB Network, which is probably only because the Orioles are playing the Yankees, but still, it's something. It's on 105.7 as well, if your job allows you the opportunity to listen.

If you do get to watch or listen, you will be treated to something close to an Opening Day lineup. We’re not all the way there yet. Chris Davis is still out. Although his injury was initially expected to have him out 3-5 days, he will now be out of games until at least Saturday (two weeks from the 3-5 day estimate) and Buck Showalter had to answer questions about whether Davis might start the season on the DL.

Mark Trumbo is back today, though.

  2. Jonathan Schoop - 2B
  3. Manny Machado - SS
  4. Adam Jones - CF
  5. Colby Rasmus - RF
  6. Mark Trumbo - DH
  7. Tim Beckham - 3B
  8. Anthony Santander - LF
  9. Caleb Joseph - C

Miguel Castro is the starting pitcher for the O’s this afternoon. According to MASN’s Roch Kubatko, the pitchers expected to pitch behind Castro are Nestor Cortes Jr., Darren O’Day, and Joely Rodriguez.
