If you haven't already heard the news, the Orioles have called up Hunter Harvey, possibly to just sit in the bullpen and maybe pitch today and possibly for more than just that purpose. It's weird and crazy and it could end up going horribly but also it could end up being exciting, so, here's hoping for the best!
In the middle of all of this, the Orioles are going to play an actual game tonight against the Blue Jays. If they win, they will be back within a game of .500. That would be pretty good. The other good thing about it would be that if the Orioles win, it would probably mean that Dylan Bundy has continued to pitch well, even without the benefit of an extra day of rest. The longer that continues to be the case, the better the scenario for the 2018 Orioles becomes.
Thus far, the Blue Jays are 6-4, so two games better than the Orioles, but two of their three series have been against the White Sox and the Rangers. The Jays have not been running the playoff team gauntlet that the Orioles have been. After ten games of a baseball season, your record may not reflect how good or bad you really are. A good way for the Orioles to show they might be better than the Jays would be to win this series against the Jays, starting with beating JA Happ and friends tonight.
When I went out to get some lunch today, there were snow flurries in the air. We are still not yet in good baseball weather. That isn't going to change during this series.
